DR. MICHAEL ROESSLER: One of the newest innovations in orthodontics is the Invisalign treatment or the clear way of straightening your teeth. Invisalign is basically clear plastic aligners that are worn on your teeth that will actually move your teeth.
The conventionally way, obviously, is--you've heard of braces. They're a lot of wires, a lot of brackets in the mouth, a lot of metal in the mouth.
Invisalign uses these clear plastic aligners that are custom made for each patient. Typically, the aligners are worn for about two weeks at a time for each aligner. Treatment takes about a year or less, which is far less than the treatment time for conventional orthodontics, usually two, three years, you know, for conventional orthodontics.
Patients love them. They're comfortable. They're able to take them out when they eat. They're able to take them out when they brush their teeth. And they love the results.
